Kate Brown is a Sydney based artist, writer and musician. With video, performance, installation and sound as major components of her practice Kate analyses the functions of the body/object to explore ways of remapping space and time. She has a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Honours from Sydney College of the Arts and studied Fine Art at University of Western Sydney.

Kate has exhibited interstate and in Sydney including the Now Now and Firstdraft; been in residence at Anyplace Project Space, Rozelle and Gunyah Artists Residence, Port Stephens; collaborated on curatorial projects at UWS Archive, Sydney Museum and Historic Houses Trust.

She is currently developing her own work that intertwines her visual arts practice with contemporary performance methods through PACT centre for emerging artists’ The Space Program 2013 and Around the Kitchen Table 2012; in 2011 she performed in BEGUILED as part of the PACT Ensemble.
